Tableau – Broken Down

About Tableau

It helps users create different visualizations (charts, graphs, maps, etc). These visualizations can be consolidated on a single page called the dashboard in Tableau. To get complete business intelligence for decision-making, these charts and dashboards can be put together as stories.

Role of Tableau in Decision-Making

Tableau is a visual analytics platform transforming the way we use data to solve problems – empowering people and organizations to make the most out of data. Whether compressive dashboard, interactive visualization, or detailed forecasts, the tableau is a valuable piece of the cost control puzzle. Tableau’s HLS customers rely on the Tableau Platform to bring different data sources together. They push the boundaries of creativity with intricate yet accessible visualizations which provide a comprehensive view of activities and opportunities. And the customer is increasingly using artificial intelligence to see through volumes of data to make informed decisions and actions.

Types of Tableau

  1. Public Tableau: This is the free version. Public tableau has limited features. I have used this version for my first hands-on experience. This version of Public Tableau is good for beginners to start.

  2. Tableau Desktop: This is an advanced version of the Public Tableau. Tableau Desktop comes with a license. To explore Tableau Desktop, I used the trial version which is valid for 14 days only.

  3. Tableau Server: This is an advanced version that is used to publish dashboards to share with other users.

Realistic Applications of Tableau:

Every day, around the world, companies and agencies across the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem use Tableau for the critical insights they need to make data-driven decisions that help save lives and maintain business success. These are some concrete examples of how Tableau can be leveraged in a wide range of use cases to help reduce costs and operate at maximum efficiency.

For example, many healthcare professionals used Tableau in an attempt to analyze Covid-19 data to achieve a better understanding of this disease and its effects.
