A sunburst chart is a type of circular chart that shows how data is organized in layers, like a tree. It is an alternative to tree map to show the branches or hierarchy. The big circle in the middle called inner ring is the main category. Then, the rings around it is for each sub-category in the main category. The sub-category ring is a branch from the category ring and the size of each piece of the ring shows how big it is compared to the others. It's a great way to see how everything fits together in a hierarchy, from the biggest category down to the smallest details.
